India has a unique and well developed tradition of making every object one of beauty. Common culinary utilitarian tools were carved, embossed and even inlaid. Walls were painted, fabric woven and embroidered to rich finery and . festoons out of natural materials. These were abundant in the local environment, pliable to craft and consequently adapted to artistic interpretation by the people.
